The closing of the summer transfer window disappointed defender Abdulilah Al-Amri, after the failure of negotiations for his transfer from Al-Nassr to Al-Ittihad, which sparked clear anger from the player who was looking forward to wearing the “Dean’s” shirt permanently.
According to Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, The intensive negotiations that took place between the two clubs during the last few days did not result in a final agreement, and the deal officially stopped with the closing of the transfer window on Wednesday evening.
The report confirmed that Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus insisted on Al-Amri’s continuation with Al-Nassr, despite serious attempts by Al-Ittihad’s management to reach an agreement, through direct communications between Ramos Planes, Al-Ittihad’s sporting director, and officials of “Al-Alami”.
The 28-year-old defender showed a strong desire to move to the “Tigers”, especially after his name had been associated with the Dean for a long time. Despite Al-Qadsiah club entering as a potential option, Al-Amri set his preferred destination as moving to Al-Ittihad. However, the player left Al-Nassr’s headquarters in a state of dissatisfaction and anger, after receiving confirmations of the deal’s collapse, despite previously getting promises to complete it if a suitable financial offer was received.
It’s worth noting that Al-Amri played last season for Al-Ittihad on loan from Al-Nassr, where he participated in 21 matches and delivered strong performances that made the “Dean’s” management move to sign him permanently. However, Al-Nassr’s financial demands prevented the deal from being completed in the current transfer window.
